After buying a brand new car, how long til changing the air filter?

I got a Scion TC and want to put a K%26amp;N air filter in, but I don%26#039;t want to get it right away because that would be a waste of the brand new stock one... So... when? Thanks|||Usually around 15k or every year but a new filter probrably cost $10-$15 dollars so why wait ? Put it in the garage and you%26#039;ll have it if you ever sell the car to someone.|||I WOULD RECAMEND YOU CHANGE IT EVERY 2 TIMES U CHANGE UR OIL.|||alot depends on where you drive if you bougt the k%26amp;n just put it in you didnt buy the one in the car it came with it .. you spent the money on the other filter so might as well use it and get the best mpg you can|||Being brand new, it has a book. Usually toward the back of the book it has maintenance schedules. Read it. It will say something on the order of %26quot;After X miles, or Y months, change the air filter.%26quot;|||Every time you change the oil check the air filter, when you see it start to get dirty then replace it. When you get the K%26amp;N filter make sure and keep the instructions which show you how to clean it, you should not have to replace that filter, just keep it clean.|||i believe it has to be at least 3000 or 3 months after driving it|||A very good idea is to put it in now. A filter is $10. The K%26amp;N gives you more horsepower as well.





No reason not to change now|||just change it...you know u want to...i hereby give u permision not to feel guilty about tossing out the stock one...
