What is the benefit of air filter in car? What would happen in case I don't change air filter in my car.?

I am curious to know the function of air filter in car.

The air filter keeps dirt and foreign objects from entering your engine's intake system and combustion chamber. Without an air filter, almost anything can get into these areas and cause severe, and sometimes catastrophic damage if left that way. Also, a rule of thumb is to change your air filter every 12,000 miles. If you let it go way beyond that, you restrict the air flow to your engine causing poor performance like acceleration lag, and it also kills your fuel mileage. Personally, I use K%26amp;N air filters in my vehicles. They're somewhat pricey at first, but you never have to replace them because they're made to outlast the life of your vehicle. You just have to recondition them generally every 50k miles with a special kit they make for them... runs about 12 bucks. These filters are high performance. They allow a higher volume of air to flow through them while filtering out harmful debris giving you better performance and fuel mileage. The best part is they have a million mile warranty and state that they do not void your vehicles current warranty. I've been using K%26amp;N's for years... never looked back.

Your engine draws in air like a vacuum cleaner. The air filter keeps dust and other harmful particles from wearing out vital engine components. Without an air filter your engine wouldn't last 20 thousand miles.

The air filter works by trapping these abrasive particles in a specially treated filtering media. When enough of them accumulate air flow is restricted, when that happens you loose power and your gas mileage decreases. If the air filter becomes clogged up enough your engine will quit running.

You should replace your air filter every 12,000 miles, more often if you frequently drive on dirt roads or live in areas where there's a lot of blowing dust and sand.
The air filter stops dirt from getting into the cylinder and damaging your engine. a plugged filter on a fuel injected car will reduce preformance, and with a carb will cause a rich mixture in fuel and cause high emissions and fuel usage
ok lets start slow got your white helmet all strapped on ? AIR and FILTER ...... whats a filter do ? filters out particles .... humm maybe it filters out the particles before they go into the motor and destroy it ... don't change it .. and when the surface area has become overloaded and your car stalls from lack of air getting to the motor you will Truly understand
Your nose is designed to do the same thing. Filter the air.
just so you can ask.
