How do you change the air filter on a 2000 plymouth neon?

Their manual only went up to 1999, but I believe it would be the same.

If it's not on the backside of the engine, its on the drivers side held in place by 5 or 6 phillips head screws.

It's the large black box on the driver's side at the front of the compartment with a large hose going into it. loosen the 6 screws and take the lid off. The air filter simply pulls off. My advice, ask for a Hayes or Chilton manual. they tell you how to do everything you need on your specific car.

Look in the manual!
probably has a wing nut holding down a large piece of plastic on top of the engine . take that off, filter should be on the back side of the engine held in place by two metal clips.
Read the manual for the location in the engine compartment.

Changing an air filter is one of the easiest things you can do on a car. All you do is take off the rubber or metal clips that hold it closed and manually replace the filter. It is almost identical to the air filter for you air conditioning system at your house. Close the lid, put the clips back in place and you're done.
